Chinese Historical Society of Southern California

415 Bernard Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012

On the site of a 19th century brickyard are two Victorian-era cottages built by Philip Fritz, an immigrant from Alsace, France who settled among the large French population in this neighborhood.  Here the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California maintains its offices and the Chinatown Heritage Center, containing exhibits, a library-reading room, and bookshop.  It is open every Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, and at other times by appointment.
