The Alpine Recreation Center, a part of the Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department, provides athletic and arts programs to local residents of all ages. It is the home court of the Alpine Striders, the Los Angeles Chinatown youth basketball team that has competed against teams from other Chinatown communities as far away as Boston.

Home to the only open space in Chinatown’s residential area, Alpine also hosts tai chi and other open-air exercises.
